Peter J. Kaul (1835-1919)
1854 Ankunft in Albany, New York
We are not certain how long the three, John, Peter, and Mary, stayed in Albany, New York but we surmise that it was a very short time for each of them. We first find Peter Kaul on the 1860 US Federal Census living with his family in New Frankfort, Saline, Missouri.
On this census it states his oldest son Jacob Kaul was born in Wisconsin on 7 July 1857.
In the published book, History of Saline County, Missouri 1881, Missouri Historical Company, St. Louis, MO, Peter Kaul's biography can be found in the Jefferson Township section. In here it states, Peter Kaul worked for the Columbia City Building Association in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and was one of the individuals who went to survey the area and ultimately laid out the town of New Frankfort, Missouri. This leads us back to Wisconsin where we find Peter Kaul listed in a Milwaukee city directory.
Peter married Mary Elizabeth Reidenbach in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on 8 Oct 1856.
They had seven children; Jacob, Elizabeth, Charles, Mary, John, Magdalena and Peter Jr all living to adulthood.
