The grandchildren and great grandchildren of Peter Kaul, Johannes and Anna Gertrude's son, gave the most reliable information currently available on their grandfather and great grandfather. They stated that all of Peter Kaul's known siblings were born in Waldbockelheim, Rheinland, Prussia.
We know that Peter Kaul was born in Waldbockelheim on 4 July 1835 based on his birth record located in Germany. He came to America in 1854, arriving in Albany, New York.
His brother John Kaul came to America two years later in 1856, also arriving in Albany, New York.
Their sister Mary Magdalena would follow them to America in 1859 arriving in Albany, New York.
Catharina came after the death of her husband Jacob Kurtz. The exact date of her arrival is unknown.
We have not yet ascertained when and if Jacob came to America or stayed in Germany.
